Optical Loss Test Set
It measures automatically and simultaneously the power and optical losses on the three wavelengths working in combination with the Triple Laser Source (PROLITE-105), in order to certify the installation according to the standards.
The PROLITE-105 (left) generates 3 optical signals with different wavelengths, that travel simultaneously through the passive optical link.
The PROLITE- 67 (right) identifies all three wavelengths and determines losses and power received. It also indicates if losses are within an acceptable range of power according to the type of network.
Tests should be performed on all GPON wavelengths, because attenuation depends on the wavelength
No mistakes: the equipment identifies automatically each wavelength, recognizing the calibration parameters of each signal.
In the shortest time: the equipment can measure simultaneously all three wavelengths, with no need to measure each wavelength separately.
No misundertandings: the equipment evaluates whether the installation meets (PASS) or does not meets (FAIL) the requirements. For more safety it also warns about the result by means of LEDs, avoiding subjective interpretations.
Wrong installation
You can set different thresholds, maximum and minimum, for each wavelength and depending on the location. According to these limits, the equipment determines the suitability of the installation
Keep the measurement records of each installation: all results are stored on your equipment, with date and time of acquisition, location, relative and absolute measures and status relating to the thresholds.
FTTH-GPON Power Meter (xPON Meter)
In this mode the equipment connects in 'pass through' mode, without service interruption. ONT and OLT can communicate each other without impediment so that you can measure the signal power Upstream and Downstream simultaneously.
In order to measure the Upstream signal, the instrument measures the optical power on the burst sent by the ONT at 1.310nm.
In order to measure the Downstream, the instrument measures the optical power on the signal sent by the OLT at 1490 nm.
Know your installation precisely: Due to the service is not suspended, the equipment is able to measure the power of the signal from the OLT (Downstream) and the power from the OLT (Upstream). The “pass-through” method is the only configuration to measure the Upstream, because on the GPON network the ONT can transmit only at the request of the OLT.
No misunderstandings: the equipment evaluates whether the installation meet (PASS) or not meet (FAIL) the requirements. For more safety it also warns about the result by means of LEDs, avoiding subjective interpretations.
Pass: Correct level of the ONT
Fail: Not enough ONT level
You can set different thresholds, maximum and minimum, for each wavelength and depending on the location. According to these limits, the equipment determines the suitability of the installation.
Configure the downstream channel: You can set the OLT port to measure at 1550 nm and determine the power of the radio frequency video signal (RFoG). You can also assign other wavelengths to use the equipment in other optical networks.
Keep the measurement records of each installation: all results are stored on your equipment, with date and time of acquisition, location, relative and absolute measures and status relating to the thresholds. These records can be sent to a PC via USB port.
Optical Return Loss
When light is injected into an fibre optics network, not all the light reaches the end of the network. Each element of the infrastructure takes a fraction of the energy and also reflects a portion of it. The relationship between incident power and reflected power is called ORL (Optical Return Loss) and is measured in dB. The higher the ORL the best the results obtained from the network.
When there is a higher fraction of reflected energy, or the ORL is low, fluctuations may be create at the power laser output and also an increase on the error rate (BER) and a decrease on the speed.
Visual Fault Locator
The built-in 650 nm visible laser is ideal for locating at a glance any damage or abnormality in the fibre or wirings.
The Visual Fault Locator (VFL) in an indispensable allied to quickly solve any anomalies, either to identify failures, excessive bends, defective connectors or splices or any other causes for signal loss.
The optical power meter model PROLITE-67 injects a very bright red laser beam to locate visually where failures are.
Keep the measurement records of each installation
- Can store up to 100 records on the equipment memory.
- Each record comprises measures of the 3 wavelengths, with date and time of the acquisition, location and status relating to the thresholds.
- Records are transferred directly through the USB port to the PC.
- The supplied software allows data management and generate reports.
