Digital terrestrial distribution for local television TLP
Local television TLP (Local TV de Provence) has successfully made the transition from analogue to digital.
This local television, located in the heart of the Luberon region (France), broadcasts local news and reports, which are very much appreciated by the citizens of the seven municipalities covered by the TV station.
The report prepared by QualiproTV shows the infrastructure, towers and amplifiers, that were already in use during the analogue stage. Most of these facilities and equipment have been reused to distribute the local channel, but now in DVB-T format. The field measurements have confirmed that the quality of the broadcasted signal by the PROMAX Digital To TV modulators is of outstanding quality.
The original video signal is encoded and modulated to COFDM with the DT-504. Then it is amplified and broadcasted in the main valley. To cover neighbor villages in next valleys, the signal is re-modulated using COFDM to COFDM modulators, the DT-212. This allows to recover the original integrity and quality and re-broadcast to the next area. Some filters have been designed and placed at the output of the amplifiers to guarantee a perfect stability of the spectrum.
This installation confirms the quality level achieved by the DTTV headend, that allows perfect broadcast and re-broadcast of signals. The robustness of the modulators was also confirmed after the first year of testing under continuous operation at the facilities of l'Alpe d'Huez, where the equipment is installed in an isolated technical room, subjected to external extreme temperature conditions.
